Pets
There is no substitute to a pet when it comes to unconditional love and understanding. Their moods don't change with yours. Dogs are known as man's best friend. After a tiring day at work, just gazing at a tank full of colorful fish can take your stress away. Riding your horse can help you forget the mundane problems the world throws at you.
Sewing
Being able to create fine articles of clothing with a needle and thread must be very satisfying indeed! My wife enjoys creating spectacular dresses for teddy bears and other soft toys. She sews identical dresses for our daughter and herself (of course, different sizes, I hasten to add) Vist her blog at http://www.sewingwithsella.blogspot.com/ and see for yourself the fun she has with her hobby!
Painting
Take up painting and forget the world around you. I am not a painter but I envy people who can draw or paint. To be able to bring out your colorful thoughts and make the world see them as you do is indeed a great gift.
Gardening
You don't have to pick up a shovel and dig six feet holes to be a successful gardener. Nor do you have to be an expert to enjoy gardening. However, if you are a novice to gardening, it'd be wise to seek out the help of local garden clubs. They'll be more than happy to help you - even if you're not a member. And even if you do decide to become a member, it'll definitely not strecth your pockets.
Activities that help one to relax
Strenuous physical activities like walking, running, cycling, and swimming often help to distract a stressed out mind. So do gentle activities like yoga and gardening.
Creative arts like painting, sewing, and writing are known to help one to relax.
Some people find joy and comfort in shopping while some find volunteering to be rewarding and relaxing.
Meditation is a great stress reliver. It calms the mind, relaxes the body, and elevates the spirit.
There are so many ways to relax but the most important thing to remember is that one has to find the time to relax.
